...there are never that many talking heads in the u.s. media at any one time that really carry their own weight in a balanced manner...usually too many agendas & too much self glorification...

Tim Russert had one trick and one trick only. He'd find an example of a guest holding a position on an issue in the past that was contrary to their present position. Then he'd confront the guest with it. Then...he had nothing.
He wasn't a journalist, and his involvement in the Valerie Plame case was shameful.
But you go ahead and imagine the guy was anything but a hack, if that makes you feel better.
