Quote of the Day

Epic win, PZ: "I get so tired of being told by the ignorant that (atheists') goal is to put a Stalin in power, when they dream of a Palin."
--PZ Myers.

Quote of the Day

"I will show you President Obama's birth certificate when you show me Sarah Palin's high school diploma. "

The Quitta from Wasilla

Yeah, it was a stretch. Muhammad Ali, I ain't.

Slog had an excellent idea: Go to Conservatives4Palin.com and read the quotes. This one is worthy of a *rollseyes* if ever anything was:

"We have to put on our armor - we are her praetorian guard! That's right - 2012 here we come!!! GET READY!"
I'm guessing the lass who wrote that is also a fan of the Left Behind novels.

This one gave me the best laugh of the weekend (posted prior to Palin's announcement):
"I don't want to read an article, I want to see Palin say it herself at her press conference...I NEED FOOTAGE! I won't believe anything until I hear it from her lips."
SHE'S A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR AND YOU ARE A DEMENTED, DELUDED FUCKTARD!!!11!1!!

I'm forwarding that to Sullivan. This is rich!

Yglesias: Rachel Maddow is a national treasure.

Watch this, Sarah Palin, this is your opponent:

And a damn fine point: She's hoovering up every media appearance she can find to complain about the media. Can we just not use the term "the media" ever again, please? They aren't all united in their purpose, they're not receiving their marching orders from one source from which they fear retribution if they step off the path.

Well, OK; Fox...

I wonder if Keith Olbermann still wears blue jeans under the anchor desk? Me, I blog naked.

HT: Matt Yglesias.

Chutzpa

"I would have preferred more opportunity to speak to the media more often"
-- Sarah Palin.

Is she fucking kidding me? She would have preferred to speak to the trained seals in the right-wing media like Sean Hannity more often.

Quote of the day.

"I know, putting this in God's hands, the right thing for America will be done on November 4."

--Sarah Palin

Update:

"I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires."

--Susan B. Anthony

Quote of the day

"How on Earth did John McCain let this dim bulb get that close to the White House?"
--Keith Olbermann. And no, your second guess doesn't count (down).

Andrew Sullivan rips Palin for all he's worth

She apparently didn't know or care that Africa wasn't one country. And that's according to Fox News.

People in my own family can't stand the thought of an Obama presidency. My two-word counter is always, "President Palin."

Update: Well, that was a lot of hot air over nothing.

Olbermann: On fruit flies and false allegations

One of the reasons I like Countdown is that Olbermann, while being a bit of a screech, has plenty of well-reasoned regular guests. Listen to Richard Wolfe's opening comment about Sarah Palin's fruit fly comment:

And Gene Robinson's final comment on the Ashley Todd crap--that if the McCain campaign jumped the gun alleging the "attacker" was an Obama supporter, someone should fall on their sword:

Quote of the day.

"They don't think she's qualified to clean the White House, forget about occupying it. And they're right."
--Ed Brayton, on Sarah Palin and independent voters.

Dear Sarah: Apologize, you loose-lipped nobody!

That from Margo Howard, Abigail Van Buren's daughter and heir to the "Dear Abby" advice column. Money quote from The New Republic:

"To live on the same street and to have served on a board with Billy Ayers, part of the Weather Underground when Obama was in grade school and now a professor, is not my idea of "palling around with." I think this hockey mom/moose skinner fits perfectly into the class war she is helping perpetuate, even though she has none.

"It would have far more factual validity for Obama, or a surrogate, to publicize the fact that Track, the kid who joined the Army, did so because a judge told him it was that or jail due to his dealing drugs. I have a strong hunch, however, the Obama people would never get into that."

Bill Maher on Sarah Palin and her witchdoctor

Money quote:

"If there was a video of Barak Obama standing in front of his congregation being healed by a black witch doctor, this election would be over."

Palin the thug

From the Anchorage Daily News:

(Troopergate) becomes about one thing and one thing only, revenge. Not public good, but settling a score.
That newspaper is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Talk about a no-spin zone.

Four more years

Sarah Palin is the female equivalent of this guy...only dumber.

Sarah Palin: Dinosaurs and humans lived together.

I'm wondering how Saturday Night Live is going to handle this. From the Los Angeles Times:

Palin told him that "dinosaurs and humans walked the Earth at the same time," Munger said. When he asked her about prehistoric fossils and tracks dating back millions of years, Palin said "she had seen pictures of human footprints inside the tracks (emphasis mine)...
(Story hat tip: Countdown with Keith Olbermann)

SNL humiliates Palin--by quoting her near-verbatim

Can someone start playing taps over this candidacy, please?

Anchorage Daily News hammers Palin

Good for them. Go here for video of this chick's dishonesty.
