USOC: We're sorry

In more ways than one:

In a letter to cyclists Mike Friedman, Bobby Lea, Sarah Hammer and Jennie Reed, USOC Chief Executive Officer James E. Scherr said, “We apologize if you felt that the USOC or your National Governing Body did not appropriately support you through this incident, and you should rest assured it was not our intent.”
And you gotta love the fact that an 18-year-old, Taylor Phinney, was able to call BS on these people better than anyone:
"A doctor from the USOC sent a note saying, 'You should wear these masks in all transportation centers.' The fact that the USOC didn't back that wasn't very cool."
In short, the USOC should have kept its collective pie hole shut.
